The Word Spreads About Silk Pashminas
There are many different types of fashion shawls, scarves and wraps that are referred to as pashminas. Technically, pashmina is a type of wool from a specific Himalayan goat, but there are blended silk pashminas and other products that people refer to as "pashmina." As so many fashion shawls made of pashmina wool were popularized in fashion magazines over the years, even silk shawls that contained absolutely no wool at all have begun to be referred to as silk pashminas. Silk pashminas are versatile products that can also be used as scarves or wraps, adding to their popularity.
Silk shawls or pashminas are pretty easy to care for, as well, and they should last a long time. Many people dry-clean their silk pashminas, but light stains can also be treated with cold water and baby shampoo, as long as there is not an excessive amount of tassels on the piece that might unwind. They should always be laid flat to dry, though, and never machine-dried.
Even "Oprah" has displayed different ways to wear these fashion shawls on her program, and a dedicated pashmina store can supply endless varieties of them online. Once you have worn one of these silk pashminas, you will most likely become a pashmina addict. They are truly a wonderful way to dress up even a casual outfit or to accentuate more formal attire. Silk shawls or pashminas look great and feel even better, and they are easy to take care of.
