How Are Silk Wraps Made
Silk wraps are very sought after because of many reasons. Everybody knows how silk feels to the touch, and no other textile can give the soft feel silk wraps have. Silk wraps have good absorbency that makes it comfortable to wear in warm weather. Also silk wraps can also be worn in cold weather because the low temperature conductivity that keeps the wearer worm. Silk is quite an expensive textile because it is very hard to make. There are more then fifteen steps that require a lot of time and expert overseeing involved in the process.
Silk wraps production starts off with silk worms laying eggs on a specially prepared paper. After the caterpillars are fed mulberry leaves and about one month later, the silkworms are now ten thousand times heavier then when they hatch, and begin spinning a cocoon. A silkworm can spin about 1 mile of filament silk when completely encased in the cocoon. A silk wrap is made out of a lot of miles of silk so that explains the material's high cost. Most silk wraps are produced in China.
This is only normal considering that silk has been initially brought from China two thousand years ago , together with the method of producing silk. The second silk wraps producing country in the world is India , fallowed closely by Japan. Wild silk production is not controlled. This means that cocoons are harvested after the moth has matured. This means that the silk can not be reeled, therefore it must be spun. Silk is the strongest textile material known, so you can probably be sure that your silk wraps won't tear easily. Another great aspect that you should consider when choosing a silk wrap is the fact that silk does not generally shrink due to the fact that its molecular structure is very strongly held together.
