When it comes to pashminas, fashion-conscious women have many choices on their hands to begin with before the question of materials comes up. There are different designs of pashmina wraps and pashmina shawls, for starters. Ladies also have the choice between pure pashmina shawls or silk/ pashmina blend products.

If a glossy sheen is what you're looking for, silk/ pashmina wraps or shawls will probably be the best bet. The sheen of these pashminas is not due to the fact that there is silk in them, though; it is because they are woven so much tighter when they are blended. Silk/ pashmina scarves are usually 30 percent silk, which adds a touch of class for special occasions and formal parties.

Pure pashmina wraps and scarves are able to offer more warmth than the blended products, though, which makes them better for cold weather. Pashmina wool is a type of cashmere, which is known for being both lightweight and warm. If an accessory is needed that will be both attractive and able to protect the wearer from the elements, 100 percent pure pashminas may be a perfect choice.

There are many pashmina scarves and pashmina wraps to choose from, and all of these wool and wool/silk blends have their advantages. Silk blended pashminas may be better for summer weddings and formals, though, while pure wool pashminas are better for winter parties.
